Joyous Celebration was founded in 1996 by  Lindelani Mkhize , Pastor Jabu Hlongwane and  Pastor Mthunzi Namba .The Joyous concept has always been enigmatic to a lot of people because of its format. They have been referred to as a Gospel group or Gospel Choir.They prefer to be referred to as a Gospel Project or a Gospel Concept. The reason being that, is because the crew changes at least every two years. The concept is basically created in such a way that performers are selected through an intense auditioning process, after which they attend music workshops. During these workshops they learn skills such as songwriting to performance. We then rehearse a repertoire for about two months. After that the crew is on the road for the whole year. WHERE IS THE THEN POPULAR EMALI TOWN CHOIR?

Emali Town Choir is a name that one cant skip while talking of the early 90's best christian music in Kenya. Formed in 1990 ,the choir did the popular hits like  Ngozi ya kondoo , Pale Kale Jerusalemu , Nyumba ya baba yangu amongest others which for years have received massive airplay in kenyan radio  stations .The choir which had members from different churches around Emali  town in Eastern Kenya  did a great job in bringing their voices and composing songs that are loved by many Christians. During an interview in a Kenyan Tv station, some of the choir members complained of not earning much from their music , despite them being members of the MCSK and thus asked for a better way of monitoring and collection of music revenue. Mr Musyoki, the founder of the choir has however began a new dawn by talking to some of the members in a bid to revive their work again.
