ALI KIBA NOMINATED FOR THE MTV EMA 2016 AWARDS



Tanzania's sensational singer Ali Kiba is the only east african artist to nominated for the the MTV EMA awards on the best african act category. Kiba has been nominated alongside other big artists like  Casper Nyovest ,Black coffee both from South Africa, Olamide and wizkid from Nigeria.The awards will take place at Rotterdam Netherlands on.
The MTV EMAs will air live on MTV (DStv channel 130) and MTV Base (DStv channel 322) on Sunday, 6 November at 22:00 from the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa, said the following: “It is wonderful to see African artists nominated at the 2016 MTV EMAs on the same platform as global superstars of the calibre of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Drake, Kanye West and more.”

In other categories, cultural icons Beyoncé and Justin Bieber led the pack with five nominations each. Superstar Adele followed closely behind with four nods, alongside Best Rock nominees Coldplay, Best New Act nominee Lukas Graham and Best Male candidate Shawn Mendes. Rihanna and Drake earned three nods each, including a Best Song nomination for their hit collaboration Work.

Adele’s record-shattering hit Hello, Justin Bieber’s electronic pop track Sorry, Lukas Graham’s soul-pop ballad 7 Years and the Seeb remix of Mike Posner’s dance smash I Took A Pill In Ibiza also earned nominations for Best Song.

Joyous Celebration was founded in 1996 by  Lindelani Mkhize , Pastor Jabu Hlongwane and  Pastor Mthunzi Namba .The Joyous concept has always been enigmatic to a lot of people because of its format. The reason being that, is because the crew changes at least every two years. WHERE IS THE THEN POPULAR EMALI TOWN CHOIR?

Emali Town Choir is a name that one cant skip while talking of the early 90's best christian music in Kenya. Formed in 1990 ,the choir did the popular hits like  Ngozi ya kondoo , Pale Kale Jerusalemu , Nyumba ya baba yangu amongest others which for years have received massive airplay in kenyan radio  stations .The choir which had members from different churches around Emali  town in Eastern Kenya  did a great job in bringing their voices and composing songs that are loved by many Christians. During an interview in a Kenyan Tv station, some of the choir members complained of not earning much from their music , despite them being members of the MCSK and thus asked for a better way of monitoring and collection of music revenue. Mr Musyoki, the founder of the choir has however began a new dawn by talking to some of the members in a bid to revive their work again. We wish them a all the best as they seek to get back at the top of the music chart in East Africa Gospel Music.
